ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR OF THE YEAR (sponsored by Megger) The Electrical Contractor of theYear went to Campbell & Kennedy. The company was singled out by judges for its commitment to staff development, breadth of services and engagement with customers throughout the installation process.
BEST USE OF TRAINING (sponsored by Brother) Crown HouseTechnologies received the Best Use of Training Award. Adult trainee electrician Cameron Thomson, right, received the prize from Mark Thomas of Brother UK. Judges were impressed with the ‘across the board’ training approach adopted by Crown House.
APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR (Sponsored by SJIB / EDMUNDSON) David Cumming of FES Ltd, centre, was named the SJIB/Edmundson Apprentice of the Year. David, who was picked from East Region nominees before making the final, was described by judges as ‘one to watch’.
BEST NEW PRODUCT (sponsored by Ross Electrical) The Best New Product award went to Philips for its Instant Fit Master LED Tube. Malcolm Grant of Philips, centre, collected the award from Craig Thompson of Ross Electrical, left, and Hamish Miller, CABLEtalk publisher, right.
BEST DELIVERY OF CUSTOMER SERVICE (sponsored by BlueSky Pensions) The Best Delivery of Customer Service award went to Campbell & Kennedy Ltd. Paul Bannister, BlueSky CEO, left, presented the prize to Jason Lowey, centre, and TommyWilson.The company installed solar PV for 2,000 council homes, engaging with customers throughout.
BEST ELECTRICAL SAFETY PROJECT (sponsored by Electrical Safety First) The Best Electrical Safety Project went to Fife Council. Bryn Walker of Electrical Safety First, left, presented the prize to John Beveridge, centre, and Andy Graham. Fife Council worked in collaboration with Perth and Kinross Council to improve inspection and testing regimes.
BEST ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT (Sponsored by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme) Gateway Control Systems Ltd won the Best Environmental Project award. Sonya Warren collects the prize from Kunal Sharma of MCS, left, and CABLEtalk publisher Hamish Miller. Gateway developed a unique heat and water recovery system.
BEST PROMOTION OF CERTIFICATION (sponsored by the Scottish Government) Alasdair Noble of John Noble (Electrical Contractors), centre, and Keith Miller of AKD Systems Ltd, right, were jointly awarded Best Promotion of Certification. Bill Dodds, Head of Building Standards at the Scottish Government presented the prizes.
BEST SMALL CONTRACTOR (sponsored by ECInsurance) The Best Small Contractor award went to RAS Crockett & Partners Ltd. Roger Brown, CEO of ECIC, presents the prize to Darren Crockett, left. His Dundee company is celebrating its 50th anniversary and judges praised Darren’s spirit and enthusiasm for the job.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT (sponsored by Schneider Electric) The LifeTime Achievement award went to Dennis Coppola. Dennis, who founded the electrical distributor Scott Coppola, was commended for his pioneering approach to the wholesale business and his lifelong contribution to the industry.
